Gentoo Matrix Bootsplash

The Gentoo Matrix Bootsplash is a simple implementation of the bootsplash feature within the patched Linux Kernel. The background used is from the “Gentoo Matrix Code” wallpaper set created by Aaron Shi (with his permission of course). Currently the theme is downloadable for all 4 colors (Aqua, Green, Red, and Silver) in a variety of screen resolutions (1024×768, 1280×1024, 1400×1050, 1600×1200). For the progress bar you must have a distribution that sends progress updates to bootsplash/fbsplash. For the best resouces for installation please go to http://www.bootsplash.org. For fbsplash users you must use bootsplash2fbsplash to convert the theme from a bootsplash theme to a fbsplash theme. $ tar xzf gentoomatrix-[COLOR].*.tar.bz2
$  mkdir/etc/bootsplash
$ mv gentoomatrix-[COLOR] /etc/bootsplash
$ bootsplash2fbsplash gentoomatrix-[COLOR]
$ rm -r /etc/bootsplash

genkernel

$ genkernel --menuconfig --udev --gensplash=gentoomatrix-[COLOR] [all/initrd]
