So I’m finally trying to get some work under my belt, since I’m without my family for the next couple of weeks. Between a co-workers wedding video, and the performance video from Meara’s dance studio, I’ve got plenty to work on. Everyone around me has heard this a few times already, but I have absolutely decided that wedding videos are some of the hardest tasks I’ve ever taken on. That being said, the wedding video that I’m working on now will probably be my last (unless someone doesn’t want me to post-process anything). Even the recital video has a very specific flow that is fairly easy to work with, tedious and time consuming, but easy in my opinion. In either case, I’d MUCH rather work on photography and image post-processing, than to work on video post processing. If anything I think I have a better grasp of what people would like to see out of a picture as opposed to trying to take 3-5 hours worth of video and turn it into something worth watching.
The hope, is that I can finally have those off my shoulders and they don’t continue to be a weight on my free time. Then maybe I can get back to hacking up some code, and working on my photography.
In the long run I hope to be able to start posting pictures again on a regular basis, because I think that I’ve decided that I’ve been way to worried about what people do with my pictures, because none of them are seeing the light of day as a result. I’ll still definitely have them released Creative Commons, because then if anyone does share my pictures they still have to at least give credit where it’s due, and they can’t make any money off of them.
I just want to be able to work on them again, without the guilt that I still have these unfinished videos…
