For all you bloggers out there, yesterday was a big day as WordPress released the latest edition of their blogging software. So far the upgrade on my site has been fairly straight forward. I followed the standard backup and disable procedures that they recommend, while using the svn upgrade method. I was somewhat concerned about the new plug-in upgrade method asking for FTP access to my site however (something I definitely need to look into). While this may be just another upgrade for most, I thought I’d note how much of a impression WordPress has had in the blogging world. From the NY Times to CNN, WordPress has become one of the most influential pieces Internet publishing we’ve ever seen. I would just like to give a huge kudos to those who have brought this project to where it is today, and I hope that they keep it up!
Update 4/1/2008: Linux Today just had a good review of WordPress 2.5 and it’s new administrative interface. I would have to say, that as I’ve used it I’ve really grown to like the interface. It has taken a little bit of getting used to though, just because of being trained for so long on where certain things are. Either way, I highly recommend updating…
