Many times before I’ve expressed how impressed I am with the Ubuntu distribution(s), and how well they’ve accomplished making an easy to use, fairly slim, Linux distro. Back in my first dealings with Linux, I was always hopping from distro to distro to find one that annoyed me the least. Eventually I had come across Gentoo. While Gentoo provided the level of control I loved, it was very time consuming get installed and maintain, and I definitely could not recommend it to Linux newcomers like friends and family (I.E. non-geeks). Then, along came (K)Ubuntu…. I’ve never been happier since. Yea, I’ve tried openSuSE, Fedora, Gentoo and Mandriva a few times when they come out with new versions just to see if they’ve improved, but I’m still happy with Kubuntu. So, that being said, I couldn’t help but help join the announcement of the release of version 7.04 of the Ubuntu distribution set. Everyone that uses Linux, or is interested in trying Linux, or your just sick of Windows, you should definitely give Ubuntu a try (You can even use the Live-CD to run it for a little bit without any modifications to your system!).
