Texas and Their Car Inspections – Strike Two

Well, Murphy’s law has hit again with our recent attempt to get our the Stratus registered. Strike one was with the Escort where the tint, that came with the car when Lena purchased it, was too dark. Fortunately that one only took a black plastic trash bag, a razor blade, and some window cleaner and we were all set. Unfortunately in this it’s not going to be so easy. The law I guess requires that the emergency brake is capable of holding the car in place up to 1500 RPM, and the Stratus starts to move at 1300 RPM [sigh]. SO, due to the fact that we have none of the things required to tighten that cable between the emergency brake and the back tires, we have to take to the car to an auto mechanic. Hopefully this one doesn’t cost too much as I’ve been told it’s a 10-15 minute fix. Anyways, once again the car continues to sit the in the garage… I’m just curious how many other states have as restrictive inspection laws. Colorado wasn’t near what Texas requires. The inspections are probably another item that needs to be slapped up with all the other “Top Ten Things People Should Know Before Moving to Texas”…
