Well, now that the dust is slowly starting to settle from Christmas I’ve finally had the chance to put together the case that Lena got me for my computer. The main reason for the case is add more fans to the system so I can increase air flow, while also switching to low noise fans. The second reason of course is the aesthetics of the case, since that is such a big thing these days (Hey I’m just trying to keep with the times… as Will Smith said “Don’t hate the player, hate the game…”). Anyways, I have the whole thing together finally and it looks and sounds awesome. The case in question is the X-Dreamer II from Aspire in black. The case comes with 2x80mm LED fans on the side cover over the processor area and in the top of the case just before the power supply. It also comes with a 350 watt Turbo Link power supply, which is actually fairly quite. The front panels come with 2 covers to hide cdrom drives and 1 to cover your floppy (in case any of them aren’t black). It has plenty of space inside to house a few hard drives (which works well for my collection). The front has a 6x LED’s for looks, and a temperature sensor that you can place where ever you want in the system (I installed mine near the hard drives since the motherboard can tell me the temp of the processor). Once I got it together I purchased the following items to add to it’s cooling:
1x Vantec 120mm Stealth Case Fan
2x Vantec 80mm Stealth Case Fan
4x Rounded IDE Cables
The only complaint I have is that the LED fans that come with it are somewhat on the loud side, so I’m probably going to order an LED fan with either fan speed control or one that states it’s supposed to be quiet. Otherwise, I’m fairly impressed with the case and would recommend it to others… As always, I have posted pictures of it in my gallery for your viewing pleasure…
