So for the past ten minutes now I’ve been attempting to remove all the files from /root/.ccache (GCC caching system to improve compile speeds). In that time, I’ve been thinking to myself how I should have read the instructions for ccache in advance. Of course all I did was read the docs on gentoo about how to setup ccache for portage and how much faster it will make you builds. Unfortunately they don’t mention the hundreds of thousands of files that will be created in /root/.ccache.
Oh well.
My next task is to patch and build the 2.6.3 kernel. I’m going to add try applying the LUFS patch, which adds the ability to mount FTP and SSH connections as local drives. Sounds pretty cool and I’m interested to see if it would be useful for some of my remote server management. That of course depends upon my ability to get my PPTP/L2TP VPN going.
Anyways, enough for now because I need some coffee…
